Wow! Only two more A to Z Challenge posts left! I cannot believe what a fabulous time of reflection and learning this month has been. A big thank you to all of you who have joined me on this journey and left a comment or two to share your wisdom and thoughts.

For those of you just joining me, hello! I have been focusing on child abuse and sexual assault in hopes of giving a voice to victims and survivors and encouraging victims, survivors, and family/friends! For this next to the last post, I would like to share some encouragement…

Each of us has a skeleton or two in the closet, a nightmare from the past that wants to cling to our coat sleeves and pull us under into a murky pool of self-loathing, judgment, and dismay. Whether it is a rape, abuse, loss of a loved one, or loss of faith, we all are looking for our tomorrows.

Annie suggests that:

Just thinkin’ about tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow
’til there’s none

Yet, I would go one further and suggest that it is by conquering yesterday and facing our demons from yesterday we are finally able to enjoy today and look forward to tomorrow.  There is nothing we can do about yesterday but learn from the circumstances and hopefully become stronger and wiser thanks to your experiences. Say goodbye to being a victim and hello to being a conqueror and survivor! This is our time!

Be encouraged and may today bring a smile to your face and great joy to your heart, friends.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

A friend often says, "Yesterday ended at midnight." Meaning, let go of the past – the bad things that you keep replaying in your mind, the should-haves, could-haves, the guilt and regret. Maui Jungalow

Learn from the past but don't let the past consume us.

We all need a reminder now and then to let go and let whoever your higher power is, take the burden. Great post!
