Tom Hiddleston (Coriolanus), will make his Broadway debut this fall. Harold Pinter’s Betrayal that already played to great acclaim in London’s West End earlier this year will have a transatlantic transfer.
The Jamie Lloyd Company production, a partnership between Ambassador Theatre Group and artistic director Jamie Lloyd, will begin previews at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on Aug. 14th before an official opening on Sept. 5th. Hiddleston will reprise his role opposite other returning members of the London cast, Zawe Ashton and Charlie Cox, who will all be making their Broadway debuts.
Previous Broadway productions have starred
Roy Scheider, Blythe Danner and Raul Julia;
John Slattery, Juliette Binoche and Liev Schreiber;
Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz and Rafe Spall

Betrayal will play a strictly limited 17-week engagement this fall.
Watching this remarkable cast bring new life to Harold Pinter’s greatest work has been one of the most gratifying and exciting experiences of my life in the theater. I am thrilled that American audiences will have the chance to witness their stunning performances – Jamie Lloyd, Artistic Director
Betrayal traces BOTH a seven-year romance between married couple Emma (Ashton) and Robert (Hiddleston) and a five-year extra-marital affair between Emma and the couple’s best friend Jerry (Cox). The play’s action takes place in reverse chronological order as it probes questions of the heart, infidelity, and friendship.
The production of Betrayal helped mark the 10th anniversary of Pinter’s death and broke box office records at the West End theater that bears his name.

Oh goodness, never thought Tom is such a talented chap! I am sure that it’ll be a smashing event at the Broadway. I can’t wait for him and his Broadway debut. Hope everybody will rave after the performance. Thanks for sharing this, I learned it first from you.
Sheena thanks so much for commenting !! I am tickled pink to be the bearer of good news. Hope you can make it to NYC to see Mr. Hiddleston in Betrayal.
I hope I can catch the broadway show, betrayal when I am in New York in the fall! From your description it sounds wonderful!
thank you so much Lauren! I’m so encouraged by your comment. Hope you enjoy the show and your trip to NY.
I’m a bit clueless when it comes to Broadway, however, this sounds like quite the controversial and insightful play! I hope it is everything the fans are hoping for and more.
Thanks Emily. I love Broadway and there are certainly many controversial plays but I think what helps is the star power behind men like Tom Hiddleston who can draw attention to said topics and the Arts. If you ever are looking for another interesting play about marriage but more on a comedic side I’d suggest PRIVATE LIVES and Don’t Dress for Dinner.

I 100% agree! Hope Tom Hiddleston’s star power helps draw attention to theatre.
Sounds like a interesting play.
