Conejo Players is wrapping up their 2016 season with a beautiful production of SIDE SHOW THE MUSICAL loosely based on the real life siamese twins, Daisy and Violet Hilton. And what a gorgeous show vocally.

All the leads are vocally on top of their game. Blythe Renay And Randi Saxer Redman as the twins were both physically and vocally beautiful with remarkably similar looks. Their harmonies were especially gorgeous and sent chills down my spine. Their leading men: Arryck Adams (as Terry), Abel J Alderete (as Bobby), Carzie Carter (as Jake) and SAG member Tanner Redman (as The Boss) were all in top form vocally starting with Redman’s chilling delivery of the opening number and leading up to the second act heartbreaking duets each of the lovers shares with their love interest.
The Joyous Living: Conejo Players' SIDE SHOW is Beautiful

The ensemble is strong and their harmonies during group numbers such as “Say Goodbye To The Side Show” and “The Devil You Know” are beautiful. Unfortunately the main problem with the production is their sound system and the fact that numerous times a mic or two will be turned off meaning lines are dropped. (Be sure to get a seat close to the stage so you can hear better.)

On a last note, this is a depressing show (not because of the talent but because of the story- you want the girls to get their happily ever after and see dreams come true but *spoiler* it ends with them standing alone.) So if you are looking for a show with a happy message that will cheer you up, this might not be the right choice. On the other hand, if you are looking for good music and a talented cast this might be a good choice.Either way enjoy! And congrats to the show’s terrific stars.
