From personal experience, might I recommend checking out these 3 must have hysterectomy recovery aids.

  • Hysterectomy Pillow. I used my pillow non stop for the first month after surgery whether in bed or the car or even out for dinner on a couple occasions. This is a definite MUST HAVE which will provide just the right amount of support and pressure needed to alleviate the pain.
  • Hysterectomy Belly Wrap. This compression wrap was a life saver for the first 8 weeks of recovery post-surgery. It  provides much needed support for the abdominal muscles to help with relieving stomach discomfort and supporting your organs to move back into their new proper place(s). Remember, after you have a hysterectomy, your small and large intestines shift to fill the space once occupied by your uterus.
  • High Waist Cotton Panties. Yep, we are looking for sex appeal when shopping for these particular panties. We are looking for comfort. After surgery you will likely have several incisions that will need to heal level with (or close to) your belly button and you’re going to want to have the comfort and support of the underwear to cover those incisions during the daytime. Also, you will need to wear sanitary pads for a few weeks due to vaginal bleeding (no tampons allowed). Yep, it’s all about comfort for these first couple months while recovering.
