sharing is caring

Congratulations to Princess Eugenie and her husband Mr. Jack Brooksbank who were wed this morning in Windsor.

I know most everyone is going to be blogging about the wedding but as an advocate for those with chronic illnesses such as I have, I have to stand and applaud Princess Eugenie’s decision to wear a dress that shows off her scar.

On a day when most women are self-conscious and choose to conceal their “imperfections”, Princess Eugenie showed off her scar from childhood spinal surgery as she paid tribute to NHS staff that cared for her when she had surgery to straighten her back.

She told ITV‘s This Morning: “I think you can change the way beauty is,
and you can show people your scars and I think it’s really special to
stand up for that.”

Bravo to Princess Eugenie for being honest about beauty and being an example for others. Hopefully ladies you will join me in following Princess Eugenie’s example in appreciating our own individual scars and understand what true beauty is.
