Ghirardelli’s Magical Sundae is a terrific snack to start your Disney vacation!
Official Description of the Ghirardelli’s Magical Sundae
Vanilla Ice Cream and handmade Hot Fudge topped with Whipped Cream, Sprinkles, and dipped Waffle ears.
Where to Find One of the Ghirardelli’s Magical Sundaes
You can currently (as of July 2021) find a Ghirardelli’s Magical Sundae at Disneyland California Adventure’s Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop in Anaheim, and Disney Spring’s Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop in Orlando.
I was personally a bit worried that there weren’t any magical sundaes at Disney Springs because it is not listed on their online menu however thankfully it was on the physical menu at the Disney Springs store. So even if you don’t see it online, it is totally worth checking out the physical store when you’re at Disney Springs to see if it’s available.
Accessibility at Disney Springs’ Ghirardelli Soda Fountain
After a savory dinner at The Polite Pig, I was excited about trying something a bit sweeter so my travel companion and I headed to the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop at Disney Springs. At Disney Springs, you can find Ghirardelli in the “Marketplace” area between the Disney PhotoPass Studio and the World of Disney Store.
The soda fountain was packed with guests both inside and outside. Thankfully I was able to navigate the shop with the ECV Scooter that I had rented from Buena Vista Scooter Rentals.
The queue weaved back and forth inside the store and while there was enough room for my scooter to get through the queue it was a bit tight when making the turns but if you can get through the Ghirardelli queue you’ll have few to no troubles managing the Walt Disney World queues.
The biggest difficulty I faced was getting around the cash register and into the small indoor dining area. The cast member at the register ended up having to move the queue pole so that I could squeeze past behind her and into the dining area.
Due to the busy atmosphere, my friend and I squeezed through the dining area and outside where a mass waited with number stands so the cast members could deliver drinks, sundaes, and ice cream treats to the proper guests.
We lucked out and found an empty table by the Seven Seas Lagoon at Disney Springs where we had a prime visual of the Rainforest Cafe volcano across the lagoon.
Just the Right Combination of Sweetness
My sundae was just the right combination of sweetness with vanilla and homemade hot fudge. After a spicy dinner at The Polite Pig, my mouth needed to cool down and the Magical Sundae was a perfect solution.
Did you know that Ghirardelli’s hot fudge is handmade from real melted Ghirardelli chocolate? Talk about — RICH! Thankfully the hot fudge is on the edge of the cup so you can have just as much or just as little of the rich chocolate goodness as you wish.
And if you are not too keen on a rich and decadent treat, this is a great option! The vanilla ice cream is so creamy and melts in your mouth on a hot summer day. And you can enjoy just as much chocolate as you want.
If you are traveling with your spouse or children, this could even make for a great treat to share with your family! Be sure to ask for several spoons to pass around.
A big thank you to Ashlee and Ghirardelli for the free sundae. My photos and opinions are all my own.

What is your favorite Ghirardelli snack?
Am glad that you had a fun little break! That looks delicious, and great pic of you on Instagram – low the lofi look of it all!
Looks and sounds devine! My favorite treat is ice cream. Unfortunately, I can’t have dairy any longer. Sure wish there were more options at restaurants/ice cream shops with dairy free items.
I visited the Ghirardelli shop in San Francisco and had their magical sundae, but it didn’t look like this. Perhaps this is a Disney thing? Either way, it was the best sundae I’ve ever had! I also liked that the shop was accessible.
When my family and I went to Disneyworld almost ten years ago, our stop at the Ghirardelli shop was one of the highlights! Who can resist a hot fudge sundae? Yours looked especially yummy, with the waffle cookie ears on top. Ice cream in Florida is always welcome. I’m glad you enjoyed it, and it was nice being reminded of my own experiences there.
glad it was a great experience for you too!! hope you can get back to Walt Disney World soon!
Looks like a fun sweet treat to have at Disney!
That looks amazing!
Tasted amazing too! 🙂
