After a great afternoon out at Chiswick House & Gardens, the family and I took the bus home and spotted Bill’s Restaurant next door to the station. What a find! We were immediately seated at a table by the window and given the massive menu to peruse. What choices. They all looked so good but we settled on a Bill’s Hamburger with Monterey Jack Cheese (sans the bun) and two of the duck pies plus a starter of crispy crumbed halloumi.
While waiting for dinner to arrive, we enjoyed an apple cider and two pots of tea.
Their tea pots were also for sale so a great advertising gimmick.
Hint: To drink your tea properly in England you pour the milk first followed by the tea.
Dad sure enjoyed his tea although he went without the milk.
More of Bill’s items for sale.
My parents had never experienced the delicacy that is called “halloumi” – and boy is it yummy!
Dad gives two thumbs up. 🙂
And lets not forget the ambiance in the restaurant – charming, inviting and lovely. But moving on to the yumminess!
Mum’s burger was hearty & juicy with a good side salad.
Dad and I had the duck pie and it was again hearty and delicious.
Dessert too was delightful – refreshing with strawberries and cream and marzipan.
A repeat visit was well worth it! I heartily would recommend a visit to one of the Bill’s restaurants in London. And while you’re at it, a peek at their merchandise might provide an excellent gift or two.
