If there’s one Christmas album you buy this year, I highly recommend O HOLY NIGHT from Dallyn Vail Bayles and Mindy Smoot Robbins.
The holiday novel promises humor, warmth and laughter and unfortunately falls hard on its face with a few jokes and laughs here and there but everything else feels like it has been lifted from a cookie cutter with no significant message and few characters worth rooting for.
Roberts’ book is 100% geared towards her fans who are more interested in the ups and downs of her musical career. The “breakdowns” (domestic abuse, flooding, and health/MS) are but small blurbs in the memoir with again the focus on Roberts’ career ups and downs.
