Book Review: A Christmas Miracle Comes to Holy Nativity

Book Description (from publisher)

A Christmas Miracle review by The Joyous LivingA Christmas Miracle is a humorous look at the trials of shepherding a small town faith community. It is filled with warmth, laughter, romance and the magic of Christmas. If you have ever wanted a staple Christmas tradition then pick this book up today and start one with your family. They will thank you for it!

Book Review (from The Joyous Living)

A Christmas Miracle is set in a small fictional community where awkward, novice pastor Bill Sanders (who does not have the gift for preaching) is given his last chance at a congregation in the shape of the downtrodden church, Holy Nativity, that suffers from leaking roofs and a stringent church treasurer. The holiday novel promises humor, warmth and laughter and unfortunately falls hard on its face with a few jokes and laughs here and there but everything else feels like it has been lifted from a cookie cutter with no significant message and few characters worth rooting for. I had really hoped for a Christian Christmas story to start off the holiday season but alas this one does not hit the mark. I cannot even tell you for sure what the miracle was. Eek, is that a bad sign or what?

For my Christian friends you will find that this book may be set in and around a church with the climax being Christmas. Unfortunately there are no other significant signs that this is a Christian book published by a Christian publisher (WestBow Press). There were even several uses of the Lord's name in vain.

If you would like to find your own copy of this book, you can get it at Amazon here and Barnes and Noble here. I hope you enjoy.

  6. OK, now I am all types of curious about this book. At first glance it looks like a children's book, your description tells me otherwise. I am intrigued, but I am Christian and not cool with the Lord's name in vain. I am just curious how it turns out, what is the age appropriateness of it?
