BritWeek: LA to London Art Show

04 May 2016

May the Fourth be with You! Today I am thrilled to share about last weekend's Sur Le Mur LA to London Street Week art show and benefit, as part of the 2016 BritWeek.

Sur Le Mur, founded by Megan Phillips, serves to provide art advisory and acquisitions, curating, custom work, and management. In collaboration with Rock Against Trafficking, a non-profit that works towards ending human trafficking, Sur Le Mur created an art show at The Desmond Building on Miracle Mile in L.A. featuring the work of critically acclaimed American and British contemporary fine, street, and graffiti artists.
Artists with work on display included: Risk, Seen, Shepard Fairey, Lincoln Townley, Alexandra Grant, Mear One, Nick Ut, Emmeric Konrad, Billy Morrison, Matthew Heller, Ben Moore, and Geoff Melville.
And what a fabulous event including great music from the Ambassador of Soul (Ellis Hall) + fabulous artwork!
Rock Against Trafficking is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, established exclusively to amplify the power of music and celebrity around the world to generate the resources and awareness necessary to end human trafficking.
My favourite art of the night had to be this stunning multimedia piece by L.A. based artist, Geoff Melville, that was timely and modern incorporating an article about Prince's recent death.
The centerpiece of the night was a cast lion that all the artists had signed.
