Cabrillo Music Theatre's A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum opens at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza tomorrow, 29 January 2016, for a three weekend run!
The show is one of the quirkiest and funniest musicals to date, written by Stephen Sondheim (Into the Woods), featuring a LOL-combination of slapstick, vaudeville, and farce involving mistaken identity, love and long-lost children. Some of Sondheim's most beloved comedic numbers come from this musical including "Comedy Tonight!," "Bring Me My Bride," "Lovely," "Everybody Ought to Have a Maid," and more!
Helming the cast are LA funny men: Nick Santa Maria as "Pseudolus", David Ruprecht (Supermarket Sweep) as "Senex", Larry Raben (Forever Plaid) as "Hysterium" and Matt Merchant (The Beauty and the Beast) as "Miles".
