GIFT Guide: Lelia Sea

28 September 2015

The holidays are fast approaching so time for a new series -- the 2015 gift guide! And today I am thrilled to present the first recommendation, LeliaSea's spa set. As anyone who has read my blog before will know, I love LeliaSea's hydrating lotions. I see immediate results after using any of their lotions, think their prices are very reasonable, and find it easy to purchase a LeliaSea lotion thanks to Amazon. All this makes me confident to recommend LeliaSea's gift set a perfect first choice for my "gift guide".

Glamulet: Breast Cancer

25 September 2015

Next month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There is hardly a single person out there who has not been effected by breast cancer, whether personally or second-hand through someone else they know and love. So how do we show support for our loved ones and those who struggle with breast cancer?

Q&A: Tiffany Asta ("She Loves Me")

24 September 2015

She Loves Me is playing one last week at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts in Thousand Oaks. (Sad Face). If you haven't been able to figure out yet from my review and interview with leading man, Brandon Lloyd, how much I adored the show, here's just another grand reason why you must RUN and grab tickets for closing weekend before this gem of a show goes away.  May I present the gorgeous and hilariously talented Tiffany Asta, ladies and gentlemen!

She Loves Me: A Chat with Brandon Lloyd

19 September 2015

Ladies and Gents, if you recall from my review of She Loves Me, I was truly impressed by leading man, Brandon Lloyd, who did a great job putting his own stamp on the role of Georg. So when I had the chance to sit down with Brandon and pick his brain about the show and his journey to creating Georg for the Panic! Productions' She Loves Me, I couldn't pass up the opportunity. So grab a cuppa and a pastry and let's take a peek into how Brandon came to be enjoying his second weekend at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts.

Fiddler on the Roof is back in Conejo Valley and this time at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center! In case you missed my previous write-up, Coming Soon: Fiddler on the Roof, I was delighted to be invited to opening night of the SVCAC 20th Anniversary production of Fiddler on the Roof. And what a treat -- true community theatre with a very entertaining and enthusiastic cast and orchestra and a heart-warming story for all alike to enjoy.

LOVED IT: She Loves Me

12 September 2015

Panic! Production's She Loves Me opened last night (11 September 2015) at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts and what a glorious show! For those of you not in the know, She Loves Me is a musical adaptation of the play by Miklos Laszlo, sharing a  story-line with film favorites: The Shop Around the Corner with Jimmy Stewart, In the Good Ol' Summertime with Judy Garland and You've Got Mail with Tom Hanks. It opened on Broadway in 1963 starring the glorious Barbara Cook as Amalia and featured Jack Cassidy as Kodaly and has been a favorite ever since. This new local production promises to be a crowd favorite staying true to the original's charm, humor, simplicity and romantic love story.

BOOK Review: Apartment Therapy

11 September 2015

Presenting... the MUST HAVE book for home owners (& future owners)! Maxwell Ryan and Janel Laban along with photographer Melanie Acevado have put together one of the most beautiful, informative and entertaining books I have ever perused.

I could go on and on about the great merits of this must have book but let me keep it to the top 3. First -- let me start by saying that Apartment Therapy is a terrible title (it is the title of the wring team's company). The book is not just for those renting apartments. In fact, this book is best suited (IMO) for home owners although it would be a great book worth picking up for anyone living in an apartment, condo, townhouse, etc. So please do not let the title of the book put you off.

Secondly, Melanie Acevado has created some truly delightful and inviting photos. They leap off the page and sell each and ever idea with great color and texture.

Thirdly, major props to the writing team of Ryan and Laban for the great and informative text. There are clear and concise descriptions of everything from color, style, flooring, how to hang art, cleaning tips, to repairs!

So, like I said this book is a definite must have. It would make a great house warming gift or better yet buy a copy for yourself and be amazed at all the tips you will pick up. Enjoy!!

The 4-1-1:
Price (@Amazon): $27.99 (Hardcover), $19.99 (Kindle)
Price (@B&N): $30.51 (Hardcover) $19.99 (Nook)
**I highly recommend a hardcover copy to put on your coffee table!**
Release Date: 15 September 2015
**Already #1 Bestseller for Residential Architecture Books on Amazon**

Disclaimer: I received my copy of Apartment Therapy for review purposes but all opinions are my own.

RFID Card Protectors

10 September 2015

Hi guys! Isn't it amazing how easy it is for thieves to collect our personal information? We're being told daily about different sneaky mechanisms being used to hijack our credit card details whether it be the waitress who swipes our card or the person trash diving who finds your discarded credit card statements or cheques. I am still amazed that America has not jumped on the bandwagon joining Europe in having more secure credit card readers -- especially at restaurants. My heart must jump every time the waiter or waitress takes our credit card out of sight at the end of our meal. Eeek!

OZ Naturals: Sunscreen Review

09 September 2015

After previously reviewing OZ Naturals' great anti-aging serum for my birthday, I was thrilled to receive a sample of their 30 SPF sunscreen and tinted moisturizer.
Summer might be almost over but sunscreen is a vital part of your everyday skincare all year round according to Skin Cancer Foundation. Anytime you are outdoors, you should use a sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher to protect yourself from a lifetime of sun exposure.

Recipe: Cinnamon Bread

04 September 2015

Love a good loaf of homemade cinnamon bread fresh from the oven? Me too. With the autumn like weather, I decided to pull out the trusty mixer and whip up a loaf of the family recipe for cinnamon bread. Being that I have had dietary changes due to my CFS, I had my fingers crossed that the results would be just as tasty and delicious. Thankfully what came out of the oven was a treat that the entire family enjoyed. Phew. So now it's time to pass along the "updated" recipe to y'all and hope you might enjoy it too!
