The Gang Show Supports Teenage Cancer Trust

08 October 2014

Saturday, I was honoured to attend The Gang Show at the Groucho Club where Collette Cooper and trumpeter Kevin Davy took part in the show in support of Teenage Cancer Trust.
The evening was chalk full of music featuring the likes of Liane Carroll, Mel C and of course the delectable Collette Cooper and comedy sketches from Matt Richardson and others.
Collette was featured towards the end of the first half of the evening and her rendition of I Put a Spell on You was brilliant and she had both patrons and fellow artists singing her praises for some time afterwards. Even the soulful and husky sounding Liane Carroll was full of admiration for Collette's unique and sensual rendition. Speaking of whom, what a delight it was to hear the lush Liane Carroll sing several numbers during the 2nd act which she helped headline -- she made singing look so effortless and has a voice that might I say surpasses Ella Fitzgerald (a genius in her own right!)?
On the comedic front,
Matt Richardson had the audience in stitches with his colourful humour and jokes.

And all of this was for a terrific cause! Teenage Cancer Trust - a charity devoted to improving the lives of teenagers and young adults with cancer.  We are all surrounded by friends and family and co-workers who have battled and/or are battling cancer. One of the sad realities of this fallen world. But it's thanks to charities such as Teenage Cancer Trust that young people can retain their dignity and be treated as they are -- growing teenagers with "unique emotional, physical and practical needs". In fact, Teenage Cancer Trust is the ONLY UK charity that is dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of victory for teenagers who are diagnosed with cancer.
My heart is sensitive to teenagers and cancer patients/survivors and if you are like me and are looking for a way to give and help bless others, I would highly recommend a visit to the Teenage Cancer Trust website for more details about their charity and the numerous ways they are making a difference and how you too might bless others! A big shout out once more to Collette Cooper, Liane Carroll, Matt Richardson, Kevin Davy and the rest of the talented array of artists and comedians who gave of their time to support a great charity.
xx
