Sherlock, Anyone?

04 January 2014

Enroute home from Borough Market, I made a quick trip to Baker Street (why ever not?). I have always enjoyed Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novels and the character of Sherlock as portrayed by Peter O'Toole, Jeremy Brett, Jonny Lee Miller, Robert Downey, Jr., and Benedict Cumberbatch. But who would have thought that the queue to the museum on a rainy day in January would be quite so long?

I definitely think we have several amazing recent adaptations (both U.S. and U.K.) to thank for the current interest in the great "fictional" detective.
Notice he has his own blue plaque! I think I shall make a mission of finding all the blue plaques while here this year.
One of the gorgeous streets off of Baker Street. The architecture here in London is amazing.
The iconic and beautiful Baker Street Station.

The architecture at Baker Street station has definitely made it one my favourites (worth a repeat visit).

What are some of your favourite haunts in London?

  1. A walk down Hampstead High Street then onto Hampstead Heath - lovely! Then a movie at the Everyman cinema :)
